The motor and adjustable pressure dial were built for stacked layers — set the dial to firm and it'll handle 3–4 layers of quilting cotton, denim seams, or medium-weight leather without slowing down. The cheap AA-powered ones stall here. LuminaShear™ doesn't.
How long does one charge last?
A full charge handles most cutting sessions — enough for a quilt top, a costume, or a stack of cardboard. USB-C means a power bank in your sewing room keeps you cutting if you ever do run low.
Is it actually safe? I have kids in the house.
The blade only fires while the safety button is pressed — let go and the motor stops. Bumping the handle or knocking it off the table won't make it cut. Store it out of reach when you're done, the same as any sharp tool.
Does it work for left-handed cutting?
Yes. The handle is symmetrical and the safety button sits where either thumb can reach. The blade angle works for cutting in either direction.
How do I keep the blades sharp?
