Swap Out Your Old Tap in 3 Steps (≈10 Minutes)
Step 1: Unscrew the cracked OEM valve from the tote’s buttress thread — water-pump pliers or a basin wrench handle it in under a minute.
Step 2: Wrap sealing tape around the buttress thread, screw on the HydroMaster™ adapter, then hand-tighten the blue compression nuts onto the downpipe and the ball tap.
Step 3: Fill the tote, walk a lap around the pallet, and eyeball the joints. If anything weeps, a quarter-turn extra on the compression nut shuts it down.

Your Questions, Answered
Will this fit my IBC tote?
The included adapter screws onto the standard S60×6 buttress thread used on the vast majority of 275–330 gallon / 1000L IBC totes. If your tank has a non-standard thread, a buttress-thread converter from any hardware store bridges the gap.
Do I need tools to install it?
Only to remove the old valve — water-pump pliers or a basin wrench. The HydroMaster™ side goes on hand-tight with the included sealing tape. About 10 minutes from open box to flowing water.
How long will the zinc tap last outside?
Zinc alloy doesn’t go brittle under UV the way the OEM plastic valve does, and it handles freeze-thaw without cracking at the stem. Expect it to outlast the tote itself with a yearly check on the compression nuts.
Can I actually throttle the flow, or is it just on/off?
The long lever gives you fine control across the quarter-turn — slow drip into a watering can, garden-bed trickle, or full hose-blast into a stock tank. Stop wherever you need.
Which variant should I pick?
Handle color is personal preference (red for visibility, blue for a cleaner look). Pick a “with Brass Cap” variant if you ever cap the outlet for winter storage or chemical mixing — the brass cap threads on over the tap nose to seal it shut.
