Fix Broken Metal With a Lighter — In Under 60 Seconds.

You've got a snapped aluminum bracket, a leaking copper pipe, or a hairline crack in a steel hinge. The local welding shop wants $80 and a week. A TIG machine costs $500+ before you even buy a gas tank. FlowForge™ Low-Temp Welding Rods fix the job in 60 seconds with a tool already in your pocket — a regular lighter.

Stop Paying a Welder for a 4-Inch Patch.

Aluminum is notoriously hard to weld. So is pot metal. So is anything thin. That's why most DIY guys end up gluing the part with JB Weld (cracks in three weeks), driving to a welding shop (gone for a week, paying double), or living with the busted thing until it gets worse. None of those are real fixes for the small jobs piling up in your garage.

What FlowForge™ Does Differently

Melts At Lighter Temperature, Not Torch Temperature — The silicon-rich alloy core melts at 380–400°C (about 720°F). Pure aluminum melts at 1,220°F. That gap is why a pocket lighter or basic propane torch is enough to flow this rod — but cool enough that you won't burn through thin sheet metal.

Bonds 6 Metals With the Same Rod — Works on aluminum, copper, stainless steel, galvanized cast iron, iron, and galvanized steel. One rod replaces three different fillers and the brain damage of figuring out which one to use.

Self-Fluxing — No Paste, No Powder, No Mess — The flux is inside the rod. Heat the base metal, touch the rod to the joint, watch it flow into the crack. No chemical paste to brush on, no powder to sprinkle, no fumes filling the garage.

How It Actually Works

Three steps, the same three steps every time:

1. Clean the joint with a stainless brush so the oxide layer is off.
2. Heat the base metal (not the rod) for 30–60 seconds with a lighter or torch until it's hot enough to melt the rod on contact.
3. Touch the rod to the joint. It flows into the crack like solder, fills the gap, and cools to a solid bond in under a minute.

That "heat the base metal, not the rod" rule is the whole trick. Most people who say these rods didn't work for them held the flame on the rod itself. Once you do it right once, you'll never do it wrong again.

Why DIY Guys Are Quietly Swapping This for a $500 Welder

"Quoted $80 at the local shop just to weld a 4-inch bracket on my pontoon trailer. Tried these rods with a Bic lighter on a hunch. Whole thing took maybe 90 seconds. Three weeks and 400 miles of trailer towing later, the weld's still solid." — Mark T.

"Was about to throw out a $200 patio chair because one leg cracked at the weld. Patched it with one rod and a propane torch in the garage. You can't even see where it broke." — Carla R.

"Sounded too good to be true. It works. The welds held under a hammer test — the metal next to the joint fatigued before the seam did." — Dan H.

FAQ

Is this actually welding, or just brazing?

Technically it's brazing — but the bond holds under hammer tests, load, and vibration the same way a true weld does for small repairs. The joint typically outlives the metal around it.

Will it work on really thin aluminum without burning through?

Yes — that's the whole point of the low-temp formula. Because the rod flows at 720°F instead of pure aluminum's 1,220°F, you can repair thin sheet, tubing, and castings that a TIG would warp.

Is a regular pocket lighter really hot enough?

For small joints and thin metal — yes. For thicker pieces (above ~3mm), a basic propane torch or jet lighter heats faster and gives a cleaner flow. Both work.

Do I need a special brush or flux?

No flux — it's built into the rod. A cheap stainless steel brush helps clean the oxide layer off aluminum before you heat it, but that's the only extra item, and you probably already own one.

How many rods do I need for a typical repair?

A 2-inch crack uses about half a rod. The 12-piece pack handles most homeowner repair lists for a year. The 48-piece pack is for guys with a workshop, a side business, or a boat.

What can I NOT use it on?

Critical structural welds (engine mounts, suspension parts, anything load-bearing in a moving vehicle). For those, you still want a real welder. For everything else — brackets, frames, pipes, tools, furniture, fences, gates — this is the right tool.

Fix It Or Your Money Back

If FlowForge™ doesn't bond your repair as cleanly as the demo, send it back within 30 days and we'll refund every penny — no need to return the rods you used. We'd rather eat the cost of a sample pack than have you tell three friends it didn't work.
